Chris Brown made his feelings clear bad bunny‘s halftime show at super bowl 60 Sunday, February 8th.
“I think it’s safe to say… they need me!! 😏,” Brown, 36, posted via his Instagram Story at the end of his Bad Bunny performance.
The Puerto Rican rapper’s performance was Vibrant celebration of his Puerto Rican ancestry, with guest appearances from Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, Pedro Pascal, Jessica Alba, Carol G etc.

One of the first to criticize the choice was a former NASCAR driver Danica Patrickwho complained about Bad Bunny Perform in Spanish.
“Oh interesting,” Patrick, 42, wrote via X . “No songs in English should be allowed to be played at one of the most watched television events of the year in the United States…not just a sporting event.”
Days later, Patrick doubled down on her criticism during an appearance. Steve Bannon‘s “War Room” podcast.

“The Super Bowl is our most-watched television event all year,” Patrick said. “An estimated 127 million people watch it. It’s the crown jewel of television and sports in particular. It’s where we come together as a country. We enjoy it, we party, we love watching the halftime show. We know we love singing along to the halftime show, and it’s often one of those versatile shows across many different age groups.”
She continued, “I have no problem with non-American contestants performing during halftime, even though Bad Bunny is technically a citizen because he was born in Puerto Rico,” she continued. “He wasn’t necessarily born in the United States. I don’t care where you were actually born. All I care about is that I can sing along to the music. His music has almost no English. I don’t think it’s going to be that interesting. I don’t think it’s going to be that unifying. What I’d hate to see is it divide us in another way again.”

“I don’t even know who the hell this guy is. I’ve never heard of him,” Dixon, 65, told TMZ in October 2025. “I’m not that into music. What’s his name? What the hell does Bad Bunny sing? I don’t know one of (his) songs.”
Dixon added, “Keep him in Puerto Rico.”
Despite facing some significant headwinds, Bad Bunny has plenty of A-list supporters, including jennifer lopez.
“I think he’s going to surprise everybody,” Lopez, 56, said during an appearance in October. today exhibit. “It’s an introduction to some people.”
Asked about the backlash, Lopez added, “I don’t understand it. He’s one of the top artists in the world right now, probably the top.”
