Tracy Spiridakos and Jesse Lee Soffer finally returned chicago police department resulting in their respective exits Upton and Halstead’s shocking split.
NBC announced on Wednesday, February 4, that Spiridakos, 37, and Soffer, 41, will reunite in the trilogy Chicago One Crossover special. According to the synopsis for the Wednesday, March 4, episode, Upton “returns to her old base, but this time on the federal level as an FBI agent.” She “joins her former police allies after a Drug Task Force case in the Detroit office leads her back to Chicago.”
Halsted “got a job with the Bolivian army tracking drug cartel targets.” Most recently, “he had been deep undercover, which led him down the path to the same case Upton was investigating.”
Upcoming episodes mark Soffer returns to the screen for the first time since leaving in season 10. The actor has since returned to direct three more episodes chicago police department Spiridakos left the show in season 11.

“I made the decision at the end of season six[aka season 10 of the series],” she told Variety in May 2024. “That’s when I contacted (showrunner) Gwen (Sigan) and everyone at Wolf and let them know I just wanted to do it for one more year.”
Spiridakos said the decision was “very, very difficult,” adding, “I was just curious about what was out there for me and wanted to change it, that’s all.”

Spiridakos and Soffer have since sparked romance rumors, but have chosen to remain tight-lipped about their relationship status. Spiridakos will next star in USA Network show Anna Pigeon.

“Halstead came away from 10 seasons with (Chicago) PD with a lot of baggage,” Soffer exclusively told US Weekly In October 2024, he played the role of a former detective. “There are people who have been through a lot of painful things.”
Sofer teases Wes is “brand new” With a “different manner” and a “different attitude.”
“Obviously, I love the ‘Wolf’ movies, they’re near and dear to my heart. Getting this opportunity was like, ‘Oh, no, that’s not even on my radar, but okay, let’s do it,'” he recalled. “(There’s) no way to predict it. There’s no way to know.”
