ChatGPT launches an app store, notifies developers that it is open for business


Developers who want to implement their programs in ChatGPT can now submit them for review and publication, OpenAI said on Wednesday. The company also introduced a new app folder within the Chat tools called the “app store.”

In October, the company he announced the arrival of software in its chatbot, explaining that this move will bring a unique experience to users of ChatGPT. Major platforms—including Expedia, Spotify, Zillow, and Canva—have announced integrations that will allow users to access their services directly from Chat conversations. Now, the company is opening up the game to more players.

“Apps enhance ChatGPT conversations by bringing new content and allowing users to do things like order food, turn an outline into a gallery, or search for an apartment,” the company said Wednesday.

OpenAI’s Apps SDK, which is still in beta, currently provides tools for developers who want to create new content for ChatGPT users. When developers are ready, they can submit their software to companies OpenAI Developer platformwhere they will be able to monitor their approval process, the company said. A number of official apps will be launched within Chat in the coming year, it added.

This is a big part of OpenAI in expanding the application environment within Chat and, at the same time, giving users more reasons to use the application and stay there.
