Jeff WeberHe became a force in conservative politics after his groundbreaking efforts in the cheerleading world and has died aged 76.
Weber reportedly died on Thursday, March 19, after falling and injuring his head while playing pickleball two weeks ago. Happy Daily. He was hospitalized for his injuries before his family decided to take him off life support.
Weber founded Varsity Spirit in 1974 and is widely regarded as the most influential brand in modern cheerleading. In addition to apparel and various media investments, the company’s business includes competitions and training camps.
Varsity Spirit confirmed Weber’s death in a statement on Friday, March 20.

“Jeff played a key role in shaping the sport of cheerleading today and building a community that has impacted generations of athletes, coaches and teams,” the statement read. “His contributions in recent years have helped grow the sport in the United States and globally, including his work with the International Cheerleading Federation, which received full recognition from the International Olympic Committee in 2021.”
“Our condolences go out to Jeff’s family and loved ones, as well as to the many in the spiritual community who were impacted by his work,” the statement continued.
Turning Point USA, a conservative political organization founded by the late US president Charlie Kirkalso paid tribute to Weber after his death.
“A visionary who helped shape generations of young leaders and believed in the power of community and country,” The organization stated Weber. “He was a great friend to Turning Point America and Charlie. He will be greatly missed.”
In October 2025, Weber stood with Kirk’s family at the White House when the late political commentator Kirk was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Kirk was shot and killed in September 2025 while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He was 31 years old.

“When I first met Charlie, he was 24 years old; this Charlie Kirk,” Weber said. “He’s already there and he’s pushing ‘The Turning Point.’ He is holding a meeting. He is indeed still strategizing. I met him through a friend at a dinner party in Atlanta and, as many would say, we hit it off. “
Weber continued, “He had it all. He had incredible charisma. He had a great sense of humor. He was fun to be around.”
In January 2021, Weber was announced as co-publisher and senior news editor at the conservative news outlet Human Events.
