blue blood spin off boston blue Returns with an episode filled with highs and lows – including guest appearances from Boston Celtics players Jaylen Brown and shocking shootings. Involves a protagonist.
On Friday, April 3, the CBS series Rev. Edwin Peters (Ernie Hudson) was shot dead outside his church. He was taken to the hospital and later released, but the entire Silver and Reagan families expressed their concerns.
Danny (donny wahlberg) and Lina (Sonequa Martin-Green) investigate the shooting, which leads them back to the complicated past of one of Pastor Peters’ colleagues. While working on the case, Danny was making himself a cup of coffee in the break room when Brown, 29, appeared to ask which pot didn’t contain caffeine.
Danny says it’s orange, which is his “favorite color when combined with blue.” However, he wasn’t a fan of the green, and Brown quickly realized that Danny was a Knicks fan. The athlete jokingly apologized for Danny’s “failure” on the basketball team, then shared a sweet moment with Lena, and viewers learned that the Boston police detective often hung out with Brown.
Wahlberg, 56, previously teased the fun cameo in an interview US Weeklysaid, “I (also) had a call with Jaylen Brown and he said, ‘Get me on the show.'” I told our producers and they wrote a scene for him to shoot. “
At the time, Wahlberg reflected on how committed he was to the spinoff After transferring from CBS blue blood.

“I had to go through the process of saying goodbye to our crew and cast and coming to terms with the fact that (Blue Bloods) was probably in my rearview mirror now,” he recalled in February. “I had to give up on Danny Regan and Blue Bloods. So when this happened, I had to reevaluate. It wasn’t just a snap decision.”
Wahlberg shares his creation He wanted to continue playing Danny.
“The decision became easier when I was working on the pilot script with the Brandons (creators Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier),” he said. “I found a way to make Danny real, to make it reasonable for him to go to Boston, and find a way to really make Danny a fish out of water.”
He continued: “The challenges of playing Danny in a new world helped me enjoy the character more. Yes, Danny moves to Boston and they all have different accents and everyone goes against the Yankees. It’s not just about being a tough New Yorker moving to Boston and arguing with everyone about what’s better. It’s (about) giving up the driver’s seat and sitting in the passenger seat. He’s a guest at someone else’s table.”
boston blue Airs Friday at 10pm ET on CBS. New episodes will air on Paramount+ the following day.
