The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback gave away authentic dinosaur, bear and mammoth fossils to teammates during the holidays — a gift that many offensive linemen said suited his personality.
“I think it speaks to his intelligence and interest and his desire to do something unique,” Bengals center Ted Karas Tell ESPN Gifts of Burrow’s Choice on Friday, December 26th. “I think it’s really special.”

Selection order is based on seniority and arrival time.
Karras reportedly picked up a mammoth fossil (which archaeologists estimate is about 30,000 years old), while a Bengal leopard orlando brown jr. and Amarius Mims Take home the bear skull.

Burrow’s interest in fossils and artifacts is highlighted in the second season of the Netflix series “The Quarterback,” which will premiere in 2024.
“When do you not have fossils in your head?” Burrow says in the episode. “They date back millions of years. It’s disgusting.”
The episode shows Burrow and some teammates heading to Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History. There, they saw several rare fossils, including one believed to belong to Archaeopteryx.

Burrow’s unique gesture was a hit with offensive linemen.
“It says a lot about who he is — his character, his heart, all of that, man,” Brown said. “He’s just a special guy.”
“It’s a big deal, man,” Karas said. “He continues to go above and beyond with his kindness, generosity and creativity. We are very grateful to him.”
Burrow has missed nine games this season due to injury, and the Bengals (5-10) will miss the playoffs for the third straight season.
