Australian wildfires destroy homes

A wildfire has ripped through Sydney’s northern coast, destroying or damaging at least 12 homes, local authorities said.

The fire occurred in the New South Wales town of Culleron. Multiple wildfires are burning across the state as temperatures soar.

“You don’t have time to think… we have lost everything except the clothes we were wearing,” said one local resident who asked not to be named.

Aerial footage showed several houses on fire as fire helicopters worked to extinguish the flames.
