“There were a lot of times I wanted to lend a hand,” Halstead told Upton after they were out of danger, but he just turned him down.
By the end of the episode, Halstead and Upton, along with their squad of former intelligence officers, eliminated the bad guys and saved the city from an attack that would have killed more people. They also sought to find an antidote to save firefighters and paramedics who were exposed during the investigation.
Before Upton left the team dugout, halstead tries Apologizing again for leaving her and seemingly giving up on them.
“I stayed on this case because you were here,” he told her. Upton admitted, “I’m here because you’re here.”

Upton replied: “I’m sorry too,” before inviting him out for a drink before their respective flights. They exchanged a cheeky look and left the office together.
