Apple is quietly launching the AirPods Max 2

The Max 2 costs $549, and features noise canceling, Apple’s H2 chip, instant translation support, better audio, and more. The headphones will be available for pre-order starting March 25, midnight, in starlight, orange, purple, and blue colors, and will go on sale early next month.

Apple says the new noise canceling headphones (ANC) are up to 1.5x better than their predecessors. And the Adaptive Audio feature allows the headphones to adjust ANC and Transparency levels based on the user’s listening environment.

The company says that Transparency mode is now natural, thanks to a new digital signal processing system optimized for the H2 device and the AirPods Max microphone group, so that users can be aware of their surroundings and the people around them.

The headphones come with Live Translation, which enables users to communicate in all languages ​​individually. It also has voice isolation, which uses “high-quality voice recognition” to isolate your voice during calls and block out background noise.

Apple says the AirPods Max 2 has a new, more flexible amplifier for cleaner audio, and Spatial Audio is said to be better, with better front end, better bass response, and more natural mids.

The headphones also support Camera Remote, a feature that lets you activate the shutter of the iPhone or iPad camera remotely. On the Max 2, you press the Digital Crown to take a photo, or start and stop video recording in the Camera app, or third-party camera apps on iPhone or iPad.

In addition, Apple claims that the headset’s Loud Sound Reduction feature helps protect users from loud environmental noise and preserves the audio signature.

Apple says the headphone mics allow interviewers, podcasters, musicians, and other producers to record content with high-quality audio and natural sound.

AirPods Max 2 supports 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio when used with a USB-C cable.

Airpods Max 2 will be available in more than 30 countries and regions.
