Anthropic closes on $20B round


Anthropic is in the final stages of raising $20 billion in new equity capital at a valuation of $350 billion, Bloomberg reportsand the desire of the businessmen to make the company earn double the amount of money it wanted to earn. The company raised $13 billion in financing just five months agobut intense competition between frontier labs and the ever-increasing cost of computing has made them eager to upgrade as quickly as possible.

Investments expected to participate in this phase include Altimeter Capital Management, Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Menlo Ventures, Coatue Management, Iconiq Capital, and a Singaporean investment fund, but most of the money is said to come from the company’s partners Nvidia and Microsoft.

Anthropic is moving forward with the latest developments, especially the deployment of coding agents, which has programmers complaining about the amount of coding. Last week, the company released a new model that focuses on legal and business research that has affected the prices of publicly traded companies as investors worry about the potential for AI to disrupt their businesses.

Anthropic’s opponents, OpenAI, are said to be collecting new funds to raise up to $100 billion, and both companies are thought to be preparing for IPOs before the summer in the markets, with xAI, which was recently acquired by SpaceX, also working on the public sector as part of the rocket manufacturer’s IPO.
