“This is very, very hard for us,” Andre told fans in the video, which was filmed in his car. “I know there have been dramas and tensions and storylines over the years, but what people see on TV is only a small part of our true relationship. What I can say is that Chuck really loved filming. He loved the energy, he loved the excitement, he really did. The connection that we all had… he loved everyone.”
Chuck’s die Elizabeth and Andrei revealed the news in a joint Instagram post shared on Sunday, November 23. The post said Chuck, who had appeared on the TLC reality show since The Family debuted on its fifth season, passed away “two weeks ago.”

In the show’s depiction of the family, Andre is often seen as being at odds with Chuck. In his eulogy, Andre said the two had a close bond despite their differences on television.
“Some of my best memories are just off camera when we’re on TV laughing and talking and joking about how we fight, and in real life we get along so well… like best friends,” he told fans. “This is how I will remember him.”
At one point in the show, Andre was criticized by Chuck for being unemployed, in addition to not taking good care of his and Elizabeth’s home. Other charges. Although Andrei joined Chuck’s property management business, tensions between Andrei and Chuck’s family had been simmering for years, and in 2021 Andrei got into a physical altercation with his brother-in-law Charlie aired on the show.
In his speech, Andre hinted at problems with his relationship with Chuck but said he wasn’t prepared to reveal any of the intricacies.

“I want to make it clear that all the rumors and clickbait that are circulating right now are just lies. When it comes to what actually happened, I will talk about it later in a respectful way. For now, I just want to pay tribute to him,” he told fans. “There’s so much more to say about this…about our true connection and the truth behind it all. Rest in peace, Chuck.”
Fans of the show were shocked when Elizabeth and Andre jointly announced Chuck’s death. “Tragedy has struck our family and left us completely devastated. My sweet, loving and caring dad has gone to heaven. We are trying to figure out how to navigate our lives and move forward without him,” Elizabeth wrote at the time. “Please respect our privacy during this extremely difficult time.”
The couple first met on a dating app before meeting face-to-face in Dublin and marrying in 2017. They have since welcomed daughters Eleanor and son Winston in 2019 and 2022 respectively.
