At CES 2026, AMC released a preview of its upcoming TV series “The Audacity,” created by Jonathan Glatzer, a TV writer and creator of shows like “Succession,” “Better Call Saul,” and “Bloodline.” This new show will look at how the men and women of Silicon Valley are shaping the world we live in today.
“They are laying cement on the highway that we are all driving with things like AI, data collection, social media, etc. And there is no group more important, in my opinion, to take a closer look than the men and women in Silicon Valley who are creating the lives we live,” said Dan McDermott, CEO of AMC Networks Entertainment speaking to AMC. Conference at CES.
As one of the actors Billy Magnussen said, “Silicon Valley is one of those times that defines humanity.”
The show will also star Sarah Goldberg, Zach Galifianakis, Simon Helberg, and Rob Corddry and will take place in a fictional universe where no real corporate names are involved, and high-profile figures will not make cameos. However, the show will still have some popular songs. For example, Helberg’s character is a flawed genius, working on an AI program to help young people, while he is a recluse, with a teenage daughter he neglects.
“There’s a loneliness, I think, at the heart of all people, and they’re all trying to fit in, and they’re trying to fit in with technology, which has some challenges,” Helberg said.
Two new films on the show were shown at the event, but photography is not allowed. In one, the enthusiastic Magnussen throws Galifianakis when he meets him while eating at a restaurant. Galifianakis doesn’t answer at all but finally cuts him off by stabbing him in the hand with his fork. Another video showed Helberg missing the opportunity to interact with his daughter, and instead used facial expressions to train his AI.
The series premieres Sunday, April 12 on AMC and AMC+.
