AI startup Rocket offers McKinsey-style reports at a fraction of the cost


Indian origin Rocket I bet the next big opportunity is the pre-vibe coding part: having AI help people decide what to build. It has launched a platform that creates solutions for consulting.

The startup, based in Surat, India, on Tuesday launched its platform, Rocket 1.0, which combines research, commercialization, and competitive intelligence in a single platform. The platform generates detailed inventory of products – including prices, stock prices, and market recommendations.

As AI-powered writing tools proliferate – from platforms like Pointer, Answerand Beloved to things like Claude Code and Codex – writing code has become easier and faster. “Anyone can code now…it’s become a necessity. But building is something that everyone needs,” said Vishal Virani, co-founder of Rocket (pictured above), adding that “running a business and just building a codebase are two different things.”

TechCrunch briefly tested Rocket’s platform before it was launched and found that it generated important product documents in PDF format from plain text. These articles are similar to reports on consulting systems rather than tools for writing vibes or chatbots, which focus more on form and behavior.

However, some analyzes appear to be generated from existing data – including known pricing models, user behavior, and competitive intelligence – rather than based on empirical data. This means that users may still need to verify output before making business decisions. Virani said the platform can provide personalized support when users face problems.

The product can also track competitors, including changes to their website and traffic patterns. Rocket uses more than 1,000 sources of analysis, including Meta’s ad libraries, Similaweb’s API, and its own crawlers, Virani said.

Rocket subscription plans range from $25 per month for software development to $250 for ideas and research capabilities, up to $350 for the entire platform, including competitive intelligence.

A $250 plan can produce two or three “McKinsey-grade” research reports along with content creation, Virani told TechCrunch, positioning his premium offering as a low-cost alternative to traditional consulting, which often costs thousands of dollars for similar work.

Rocket was promoted a $15 million seed round in September from Accel, Salesforce Ventures, and Together Fund. Since then, the startup has reportedly grown from 400,000 to more than 1.5 million users in 180 countries. It also reported annual revenue per user of ~$4,000, although it did not provide details on its paying customers. The startup says it operates at a rate of over 50%, with 20-30% of its customers being small and medium-sized businesses.

Rocket has a team of 57 employees and is headquartered in Surat, with operations in Palo Alto.
