Federal authorities claim they foiled a series of coordinated New Year’s Eve bombings targeting five different locations in Los Angeles.
The FBI announced the arrest of four suspected members of the pro-Palestinian anti-government Turtle Island Liberation Front extremist group, which investigators say organized the failed terror plot.
The arrested person is Ott Irene Carroll30; Zachary Aaron Page32; Dante Garfield24; and Tina Lainow 41 years old. All four were charged with conspiracy and possession of an unregistered destructive device, according to court documents. us weekly.

“The Turtle Island Liberation Front – a far-left, pro-Palestinian, anti-government and anti-capitalist organization – is preparing to conduct a series of bombings against multiple targets in California beginning on New Year’s Eve,” Attorney General Pam Bundy alleged in a statement. “The group also plans to target ICE agents and vehicles.”
The plot involved placing explosive devices in backpacks and dropping them at five locations. Officials said the selected sites were linked to two U.S. companies but did not name them.
Authorities claim the four were arrested on Friday, December 12, in the desert east of Los Angeles, where they planned to test improvised explosive devices.
Agents found the four men in possession of “precursor chemicals” and claimed they would also assemble the bomb at the desert site. A surveillance plane captured the moment Los Angeles FBI Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) and FBI agents entered the group to arrest them.
The Turtle Island Liberation Front is also accused of discussing pipe bomb attacks against ICE agents, which they planned to carry out in January and February 2026. Carroll allegedly said the group “will eliminate some of them and scare the rest.”
The FBI on Monday released a series of photos from a search of Carroll’s home that showed posters and materials related to the group, including one that read “Death on Ice” and another that read “Death to America, Turtle Island and Long Live Palestine.”
According to the criminal complaint, Carroll allegedly told the FBI informant that she had a “notebook in which I wrote multiple plans that never happened… so it was like my horror diary.”
Carroll said in court documents that she had a contact who could locate unregistered firearms for the group. She also said a member of the Koh Tao Liberation Front is a former soldier and may have access to weapons parts.
“The successful foiling of this plot is a powerful testament to the power of our unified response,” said the Los Angeles Police Department Chief. Jim McDonaldIt added that the efforts of coalition agencies “prevented potential tragedies and reaffirmed our shared commitment to protecting our communities.”
The FBI believes others may be involved in organizing a terrorist plot and will continue to investigate the group.
