Moore was arrested Wednesday afternoon, shortly before news broke that he had been fired as the Wolverines’ football coach for allegedly having an “inappropriate relationship” with a staff member. The staffer claimed Moore broke into her home and threatened to kill himself in front of her.
He was arraigned Friday, Dec. 12, charged with one felony count of third-degree burglary, one misdemeanor count of stalking related to a domestic relationship and one misdemeanor count of burglary. If convicted on all counts, Moore faces up to six years and three months in prison and a fine worth $3,500.
The same day Moore was arrested, Sorety accused Moore on the X website of “trying to risk everything with the OF model” in my DMs.
She later added that he “messaged me at halftime of the Ohio State game,” referring to Michigan’s 27-9 loss to their archrival on Nov. 29.
As the scandal unfolded, Sorety remained active on X and used the platform to dispel rumors that Moore had offered her football tickets in exchange for sex.
“Just to clarify, Sherrone did not ask me for anything in exchange for the tickets,” she wrote Saturday, December 13th. “That story is false and I never posted anything about it on social media. All communications were with my former assistant. The story was a complete misunderstanding.”
Moore was released from jail on Friday on a $25,000 cash bond on the condition that he not contact staff and wear a GPS tether.
Two days later, he was spotted carrying his wife Kelly and youngest child outside his lawyer’s office. In a photo obtained daily mailMoore pushed his daughter in a stroller, with Kelly following behind. Moore and Kelli married in 2015 and have three daughters: Shiloh, Solei and Sadie.
Moore is due back in court on Jan. 22 for a probable cause conference.
