“I showed up to the emergency room with her family and spoke directly with them. I recommended a series of precautions, some beyond standard protocols, to ensure the most accurate assessment, monitoring and medical oversight,” Rocha continued. “Additional medical experts have also been engaged to provide multiple professional assessments and ensure a full understanding of her condition.”
The Miss Universe Organization later said in a press release in December 2025 that Henry suffered “intracranial bleeding, loss of consciousness, broken bones, facial lacerations and other serious injuries” as a result of the fall.
“(Henry) was immediately transported to the intensive care unit in Bangkok where her condition remains critical with ongoing neurological monitoring and continues to require 24-hour specialist supervision,” the statement continued. “She will return to Jamaica in the coming days with a full medical team and will be transferred directly to hospital to continue treatment and recovery.”

She announced via Instagram on November 24, 2025: “As a representative of Côte d’Ivoire at the 2025 Miss Universe competition in Bangkok, I have seen firsthand that I am capable of accomplishing great things in the face of adversity. But to continue on this path, I must stay true to my values: respect, dignity, excellence and equal opportunity, which are the strongest pillars that guide me.”
“With a heart full of gratitude and deep respect, I hereby announce my resignation from the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, and from any future association with the Miss Universe Committee,” Yas added.
“In order to realize my full potential, I must firmly adhere to the guiding principles of my values and pave the way for excellence,” Yas added, also referring to comments she made during the pageant about being a role model for the younger generation.
“I encourage them to push their limits, walk confidently into rooms they didn’t think belonged to, and embrace their identities with pride. It’s this commitment to making a positive impact that guides my decisions today,” she said. “Escape from the diminished role of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania will allow me to dedicate myself to defending the values I hold dear.”
