A representative for Brandon’s family confirmed on August 7 that Brandon passed away after a three-year battle with melanoma.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brandon Blackstock,” the family told US Weekly in a statement at the time. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. We thank you for your concerns and prayers and ask that everyone respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
In Brandon’s obituary, Jones was called Brandon’s “beautiful and loving companion in life and career.”
“Brandon began his life with his beautiful and loving life and business partner, Brittney Marie Jones, building companies and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction, and The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana, which will be his legacy,” the obituary read.
Jones, who worked as an assistant to Clarkson, 43, had been quietly dating Brandon before his death and was reportedly close to his children.

For Savannah, Talk openly about losing your father A few weeks after his death, he published a heartfelt post on Instagram.
“My dad always went out of his way to make my dreams come true. No matter how high or how far, he blazed a trail,” she wrote on August 19. “Not only did he make my dreams come true, he chased them with me. All over the world, he was there and my biggest cheerleader. He was my best friend, my voice of reason, and my favorite phone call every day.”
In addition to paying tribute, Savannah also shared photos of her life with her father over the years.
“I lost a heart and my favorite cowboy, but heaven gained an angel,” she continued. “I’m so grateful for the time I have and I can’t wait for eternity. I love you dad and I will miss you forever. Enjoy your ranch out there, God designed it with your heart’s desires. ❤️.”
