influencer indy clinton is explaining her decision to change her daughter’s birthday because it was too close to Christmas.
“I was going to get your opinion on something, but I’ve already made up my mind, so I’m going to just tell you because I don’t need your opinion. I just want you to know what I’m doing as a mother. It makes me think, ‘Why aren’t more people doing this?’ Because I can’t actually really think of why this would be a bad thing,” Clinton said on Tuesday, December 2, Tik Tok video.
Clinton, a mother of three, explained that she decided to move her youngest child’s birthday to December 12th. (Clinton welcomed daughter Soul on December 18, 2023. She previously welcomed son Navy and daughter Bambi in 2020 and 2022 respectively.)
“She’s actually just It’s too close to Christmas For my liking, I just thought, going forward, she would never know that we had officially changed it,” Clinton said, before interjecting, “If you see this, can you thank me? Because I do it to get attention. “
@indyclinton If you were born near Christmas and your parents never had the foresight that I did, I’m sorry
Clinton may be joking as the Australian Taxation Office says you can only legally change your birthday If you want to correct a mistake, do it in the country.
“She wasn’t born that day, but honestly, who needs to know? I know she fell from me that day, but no one else needs to know,” she said. “To be honest, I can’t think of why this would be bad. I don’t know why more people don’t do it. To be honest, am I crazy? No, I don’t actually think I’m crazy. I think it’s very clever and no one else has thought of it.”
Moving closer to the camera, Clinton added, “So, I just don’t want to distract you. You’re welcome.”
“If you were born near Christmas and your parents never had the foresight that I did, I’m sorry,” she wrote in the post.
Users weighed in on the idea in the comments section, and there seemed to be disagreement on whether she should change the date.
“My birthday is December 24th and I would wake up on my birthday and have every bit of Christmas hidden in my mom and dad’s room and we would celebrate my birthday and then around 4pm the Christmas decorations would come out again and we would change to Christmas! I will cherish these memories forever! I am a third child too! Don’t change the date, learn to make changes for this day,” one user wrote.
Another added, “Indy don’t do this. When she grows up she’ll have to fill out official forms and not know her damn birthday.”
Others, however, appeared to support Clinton’s decision to change the children’s official birthdays.
“As someone born on December (15th), I think the 12th is still too close. Speaking from personal experience. If you’re planning on moving it to November,” one user wrote, while another added, “Feels like! As a 32 year old female, I moved my birthday from December 30th to mid-year…not crazy!”
Clinton’s video was posted days after she addressed a user claiming to be her. “Looks shabby” Speaking at the TikTok Awards, she said the comment was “untrue.”
