“I think it’s not normal to be scrutinized and invited to the world stage at such an age,” Bassett continued, referring to her 19-year-old daughter.

Ahead of Saturday’s event at the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris, Bronwyn opened up about how she entered the world of debutantes.
“I love fashion and feeling like a princess, and that seemed like something I would be into,” Bronwyn told Hello! “I also met some girls who had done this a few years ago and knew it would be a great thing if they did it.”
Bassett and husband Courtney, 65, both attended the ball to support their daughter. Kourtney even did a special dance with Bronwyn. Slater also attended Saturday’s event, serving as his sister’s knight or escort.
“I think having my brother and a built-in best friend takes the pressure off,” Bronwyn said of her brother, noting that their photos will “last a lifetime.”
The twins have maintained some distance from each other and their parents since deciding to attend separate colleges on the East Coast. Bronwyn is currently studying at Harvard University in Massachusetts, while Slater has decided to attend Yale University in Connecticut.
“Distance doesn’t make us any less close,” Bronwyn explained, speculating that the separation would “be good for us and our future careers.”

bassett told Hello! Her children’s relationship is a “blessing,” especially now that they are in a “stage of self-discovery” while adjusting to early adulthood.
When talking about Saturday’s debut, Bronwyn recalled meeting other debutants before the event.
“We talked about how some girls don’t know their riders yet and how we were so hungry all day today while filming and interviewing,” she said. “I enjoyed meeting all the knights, but from what I heard, they were all very handsome and interesting!”
