Bristol Palin The health update comes nearly a year after she first detailed her battle with facial paralysis.
Palin, 35, took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, November 27, to share a Thanksgiving “wellness check” with her 5-year-old daughter Sailor Grace Meyer, whom she shares with her ex-fiancé Dakota Meyer.
“Black leggings, black long sleeves, the same denim shirt I always wear, vintage Louis Vuitton,” teen mom and alum said.
Palin later added, “And with a crooked face,” suggesting she was still recovering from what doctors believe may be Bell’s palsy. (according to mayo clinicBell’s palsy is “a disease that causes sudden weakness of the muscles on one side of the face.”)
Bristol is the eldest daughter of the former governor of Alaska Sarah Palin and ex-husband Todd Palinfirst revealed her health battle in January.
“I woke up nine days ago with a weird feeling on my face,” she said via social media at the time. “My mouth was pulled this way and something felt wrong. So I went and looked in the mirror. I thought ‘Wow. This looks a little weird.'”
this dancing with the stars The alum added, “Within a few hours, the entire left side of my face was numb and completely paralyzed… I couldn’t blink. There was absolutely no movement in the[left half]of my face. It was crazy.”
Bristol said her doctor “did tests, did a CT scan and gave her steroids” among other medications.

In February, Bristol said she had tried “everything imaginable” to treat her condition, but nothing seemed to work.
“I don’t know what else I should do. But I’ve been doing something every day for the past 35 days to try and fix this, but nothing has helped so far. So, I’m not sure what the future holds,” she continued.
In another update that month, Palin said: “We On day 23 herewhich is absolutely crazy. I couldn’t move the left side of my face at all. It was really hard to blink and I couldn’t blow out the candles. I looked crazy. Can’t believe it’s been three weeks already. I’ve been doing everything. I’ve been doing acupuncture, lymphatic massage, oxygen chamber therapy, red light therapy, cutting out almost all processed foods, and eliminating most caffeine – I still have a cup of coffee in the morning. “
Bristol’s condition did eventually improve, and she revealed during a Q&A in July that her face “Maybe 70% returns to normal“.
“I feel like I’m handling it pretty well,” she added. “I can’t look at pictures of myself (right now).”
Bristol continued, “It *could* be permanent, but I don’t think it is. It’s slowly improving. My doctor thinks it will be another three months before I *hope* to be back to normal.”
