“The Manchurian Candidate” (2004)
1962 version manchurian candidate It’s a masterclass in suspense. The 2004 version, while not quite on the same level, had some great performances Denzel Washington, Liev Schreiber and Meryl Streep. In this retelling, Washington plays Ben Marco, a soldier who fought in the Iraq War alongside Raymond Shaw (Schreiber). Everyone knows Shaw as the war hero who saved Marco’s unit, but suddenly, Ben finds he can’t trust his memory of what really happened. One of the plot’s puppet masters is Senator Eleanor Shaw (Streep), who has her son become Vice President of the United States. If Marco can’t find a way to prove Xiao has been compromised, the country they love could suffer the consequences.

“Public Enemies” (2009)
Director brings the 1930s to life Michael Mannof public enemy. This crime thriller follows the life of a notorious bank robber, John Dillinger (Johnny Depp), a man who was once on the top of the FBI’s most wanted list. Some other historical bank robbers from the era also appear in the film, such as George “Babyface” Nelson (Stephen Graham). But this is Dillinger’s story.
Dillinger lived the life of an outlaw but won billie frechette (Marion Cotillard) and the public’s adoration of him as a folk hero. Christian Bale co-starring Melvin PurvisFBI agents, hunted Dillinger and his associates across the country. Purvis didn’t understand how anyone could believe Dillinger was an aspirant, but he believed in his own righteousness and Dillinger couldn’t sway him.
