To me, it’s the bravest thing I’ve ever done. It’s scary. But if it means getting more time with you, it’s worth it.”

Dane continued: “One of my arms works fine. … My left arm works fine. My right arm (my dominant side) has completely stopped working. (My left arm) has no use. I feel like maybe in a few months my left arm won’t work anymore… I’m worried about my legs.”

The actor said he was “angry” about the handling of the situation. “Very much. I’m angry because my dad was taken away from me when I was very young. Now there’s a good chance that my daughters were taken away when they were very young,” he explained, referring to his and Rebecca Gayhart’s daughters. “I mean, I really, at the end of the day, all I want is to spend time with my family and, if I can, do a little work.”

Danish credit to his neurologist gave him hope of slowing the progression of the disease.

“I thought I was the kind of person who hides under the sheets, but that’s not the case,” Dane told Extra about Dr. Merit Cudkowicz in July. “I have a very positive attitude and spirit. I just go with the flow. Not every day is great, but the truth is, my life is great.”
