Facebook groups are on the rise – as is the new support names. The feature, which allows users to post under a username instead of their real name, provides an alternative to anonymous posting. With anonymous posting, users can share without writing to their Facebook profile and that this does not allow other members to know or to follow their changes after a while.

Meta said that traditional names allow people to participate in groups while maintaining privacy, especially in groups where users want privacy but want to create a recognizable presence. It can make Facebook groups look like other Internet forums and boards – like Reddit or Discrd, for example – where people use them. This marks a departure from Facebook’s “Big Name” which insisted that people appear on the platform with the name they use every day.
That policy worked if Facebook was a social network above real relationships with family and friends, but including creative groups that use the Internet, which requires a lot of security.

After users in the group have written their name, then they can send, comment, and do under the name that lives in the groups they support. This allows users to hide their main profile and photo from other members but not from Facebook operations, administrators, or systems.
However, others in the group can see the user’s full profile under their name, as well as comments and activity from the past seven days.
Facebook says that nick inches for users, but users can change the name to their own opinion. The name should follow the lobs The point and cannot be used by another party. The company also recommends a picture of the name, although users can choose their own from the available ones, as well as choosing a background color.

To access the feature, users will find the next option to “write anonymously” when creating a post and then choose the option to change the name. The Use your username option can be turned off at any time, allowing users to post under their real name.

Although users can change their username, they can do so every two days. Additionally, changing the nickname does not allow users to take credit from past posts and comments. Instead, once changed, their new name will be used for their previous content, their previous comments, and their actions, although this takes time to appear on devices and groups. If users have different usernames in different groups, changing the username will only affect the posts, comments, and content of the group associated with the username.

The company says that registered users cannot use other features like video, integration, or messaging. Users can block others by username, as well.
The product is available worldwide but requires approval by the Advice team to support any group.
