Ryan Reynolds Talks Casting Gwyneth Paltrow in ‘The Astronomer’ Commercial

In a video posted on The Astronomer’s official X page, titled “Thank you for your interest in Astronomer” Paltrow, 53, appeared as an “interim spokesperson” for the company. She was on hand to explain the company’s business while teasing a viral moment between Byron, 51, and the Astronomer’s chief people officer Christine Cabot.

“I was hired on a temporary basis to speak on behalf of Astronomer’s more than 300 employees,” Paltrow said, before explaining that the company had received “a lot of questions” in recent days.

“Oh my God! What the hell?” popped up on the screen, and Paltrow sidestepped the query, explaining instead “Airflow, running data machine learning and artificial intelligence pipelines at scale.”

When “How is your social media team doing…” came up as another question, the actress turned again to the company’s “game-changing results.”

“Astronomers have proven to be an amazing company,” Reynolds insisted on Tuesday. “They really did some amazing things.”

Reynolds added: “But it’s a real opportunity for them to take the conversation away from where it was, which I think is pretty toxic, and really focus on what’s important in a fun, light-hearted, emotional and endearing way.”

During Coldplay’s July 16 show at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, the band used Kiss Cam to show the couple’s performance to the audience on the big screen, but Byron didn’t seem excited when he saw the scene. He was caught hugging a colleague Cabot, 53, not his wife; Megan Kerrigan Byronwho was not present.

“Wow, look at these two guys. OK, come on. You’re fine,” said Martin, 48. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just shy. I’m not really sure what to do.”

He added, “Oh my gosh. I hope we didn’t do something bad.”

Both Byron and Cabot resigned from their positions at the Astronomer following the scandal, and Cabot, who was separated from her husband Andrew at the time, subsequently filed for divorce.

Byron has yet to publicly comment on what happened, but has been seen with his wife on several occasions recently. In photos obtained by police, both men were wearing wedding rings daily mail.

Paltrow and Martin, for their part, were married from 2003 to 2014 and have two children together: 21-year-old Apple and 19-year-old Moses. When they published a post on the Goop website titled “conscious decoupling“.
