“There are multiple AI versions of funerals, tributes and family quotes that are fabricated,” she continued. “The portrayal of my father, who clearly had no voice, and the portrayal of my family in a way that is not representative of anyone is particularly challenging during these difficult times. We are grieving together and we all have each other’s backs.”
Amy clarified that she and her family have not yet held a “public funeral” and are “making plans for future commemorations.”
She added: “Every family should have the ability to grieve, represent the person they have lost and pay their respects in a way that best suits their values and family culture.”
While Amy admitted that “artificial intelligence isn’t going anywhere,” she hopes it can be used in a “transparent” way.
“There are a lot of elements of it that were created with good intentions. I just ask, what if this was you? Let that be your guidepost,” she said. “Allowing human authenticity to exist, inspire and be the connective tissue we all crave.”
