The moment 14-year-old Shrey Parikh wins the National Spelling Bee


A teen from California has won the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee after a three-day competition at Constitution Hall in Washington.

Shrey Parikh went head-to-head with 12-year-old Ishaan Gupta in the final round. The two must spell out as many words as possible in 90 seconds.

Shrey spelled 32 words correctly within the allotted time, with “cashew” (a type of pumpkin) announcing his winning word.
