For users, Spotify has become a marketplace for podcasts produced by third-party producers. The company aims to change this by introducing a personalized podcast, which uses AI to create podcasts for users based on an idea or trend.
Earlier this month, the company released a GitHub-based command-line Claude Code is a Codex tool that allows users to create a podcast and save it to their Spotify library. The company said that, soon, users will be able to create podcasts directly in the Spotify app. They can also schedule them to create short daily or weekly posts on topics that interest them over and over again. Also, they can create individual podcasts to understand the topic.
Users can make requests such as “Share my daily updates of the city, and tell me about local concerts from my favorite artists,” or “Help me understand economics in five minutes,” to create a podcast and save it to the library for use.
In addition, users can add links, PDFs, and articles, and choose favorite words to create podcasts. The company is removing the site NotebookLMElevenLabs readers, it’s old NotebookLM devs’ app Huxe create your own podcasts on any topic.
Spotify also released a dedicated desktop app called Studio by Spotify Labs, which can connect to users’ email and calendar to create personalized profiles.
Additionally, the company is rolling out an AI-powered Q&A feature for Premium phone users in the US, Sweden, and Ireland today. With this, users can ask questions about the episode they are listening to or an idea mentioned in the podcast to get answers. They can also ask for podcast ideas on specific topics. The new additions come after the company released a quick release section to create podcast playlists for April.
Until now, Spotify has been forcing people to consume a lot of video podcasts. The company said users who downloaded the podcast were up 50% year over year. With this release, Spotify wants users to do more with the app by asking questions about the podcast, which is similar Ask YouTubereleased by Google at the beginning of the week, creating their own podcasts with interest.
For podcast creators, Spotify is developing its own tool to manage brand collaboration. Additionally, it is adding a way for developers to charge a subscription to unlock content and exclusive experiences. Social platform like Instagram, Facebookand Picture already provide a similar product to the manufacturers.
