Kathy Griffin is sharing an update on her self-described “TMI” health.
Posting method her Instagram On Thursday, May 21, Griffin, 65, revealed that she had been hospitalized after undergoing a medical procedure.
“I spent the night in the hospital because of complications from a colonoscopy,” Griffin wrote.
While Griffin didn’t elaborate on why she underwent surgery, the comedian assured her fans that despite her failing health, she is now on the mend.
“I know, I know, super sexy, but I’m home with my puppy now,” she added.
According to the Mayo Clinic, a colonoscopy “is an examination of the inside of the large intestine (colon). It helps diagnose gastrointestinal diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer. It can also help treat and prevent colon cancer.”
Griffin’s followers flocked to the comments section of her post to express their well wishes after the ordeal.
One wrote, “Feeling better soon❤️,” while another added, “Ugh…I’m so sorry this happened. Cheer up, dear Kathy.”
