BBC live coverage during march in Jerusalem’s Old City

Tens of thousands of Israeli celebrants marched through Jerusalem’s Old City, which was occupied by Israel in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.

Israel’s annexation of east Jerusalem is not recognized by many of its allies, including Britain.

The annual march is often accompanied by racist chants and violence against Palestinian residents and businesses.

BBC Middle East correspondent Lucy Williamson was on hand to observe the commemorations throughout the day.
