Out of School Season 2 Might Be Adjusted After Book Changes

While the scripts are finished, Levy didn’t rule out the possibility of revisions, adding, “They’re already written. That doesn’t mean we can’t make adjustments. But we do have a plan, we do have a map (for this season). But I’m pretty sure the fans are going to be really excited about it.”

“It was great to start with the blueprint of this wonderful book series, but adapting it for television is a little different,” Levy said. us. “We need to keep the audience’s attention in different ways.”

Levy breaks this approach down from page to screen.

“We have a lot of stories told in different ways. We have eight episodes instead of a whole book,” she noted. “So we really start with those things that are super non-negotiable — things that off-campus wouldn’t be without.”

She continued: “From that point on, we added as many moments from the book as we could. We put them in like Easter eggs, and we really took the time to understand a person’s inner character and externalize it.”
