New York Times defends reporter after Israel threatens prosecution

In a 3,700-word article titled “Silence in the Face of Palestinian Rape,” Kristof wrote, “There is no evidence that Israeli leaders ordered the rape. But in recent years, they have created a security apparatus where, as a United Nations report last year said, sexual violence has become Israel’s ‘standard operating procedure’ and ‘a major factor in the abuse of Palestinians.'”
