Xi Jinping welcomes US president but thorny issues remain

President Xi Jinping has been eager to portray himself as a stable global leader in contrast to the erratic U.S. president. Given the size of China’s economy, many world leaders, including those of U.S. allies such as Canada, Britain and Germany, have emerged eager to strike a deal with Beijing.
