Yesterday, Instagram worldwide released a new product called “Instants” which is designed to share real, unseen images. Although social networks with Meta call Instants as a new way to share real-time events, many users are looking for a way to turn off the feature, especially those who have problems. he finished accidentally send photos for others, not fully understanding how the field works.
When you open the new Instants section of Instagram for the first time and click on the small icon at the bottom right of your box, the program opens a short text about the interface that informs users that Instants will end, there is no list of viewers, and that the responses and responses are private. This app lets you quickly log in and watch and act on Instants.
When you get to the camera, below that is a shutter button, and below that is a switch that lets you choose between “Friends” and “Close Friends.” By default, it is set to “Friends.”
What Meta doesn’t immediately inform users of is that as soon as you click the lock button, the captured image will be sent to everyone on your Friends list, unless you’ve manually changed the setting to “Close Friends” beforehand.

Since the method of sending a picture is not clearly defined, many users may accidentally send a picture to others who did not want it. (It’s worth noting that Meta offers an option to “restore” a photo after it’s posted, but it’s easy to miss because all the accidental exposure to others can be confusing.)
On an app like Instagram, where users like to check and save their content carefully before sharing, the instant upload feature has upset many people, considering that their privacy is at risk.
Unsurprisingly, many users are looking for ways to block the feature. We’ll show you how to turn it off and how to remove a photo if you’ve accidentally shared it.
To turn off the new Instants feature, you need to go to your profile, click on the three lines on the top right to open your preferences. Next, you need to go to “Content Preferences” and then change “Hide Instants in Inbox.”
If you choose this option, you will no longer see the Instant feature in your inbox. You will no longer see every Instant that people send you.
If you don’t want to turn off all features, you can put a bunch of Instants in your inbox and right-click to stop receiving them temporarily.
Once you’ve sent an Instant, an “Edit” option appears below the shutter button, allowing you to quickly remove the image from the recipient.
In addition, you can go to your archive by selecting the four-box icon to the right of the camera and remove Instant to send to friends who have not opened it yet.
