X introduces the History tab for bookmarks, favorites, videos, and articles

X is turning itself into a “save-it-for-later” app with the launch of a new History page that captures all your bookmarks, favorites, videos, and notes in one place for easy access.

Available on iOS, X product title, Nikita Bier, he explains the new tool as a better way to view all your favorite content and return to content you want to finish or watch later.

With this update, the Bookmarks button in the left X menu of the mobile app has been changed to History. The new page separates your saved content into four tabs – Archives, Favorites, Videos, and Notes – making it easy to access again at any time. While Bookmarks and Likes are intentional saves, Video and Text cards will be public based on what you watch or read on X. The History section will be private to you,

This integration makes X feel like a web browser, where users can return to content they’ve already viewed, even if they haven’t clicked a button to save the content. It combines content found in various places within the app, with bookmarks sitting in the main menu and favorites buried as tabs in your profile.

The move could also encourage greater use of X’s long-form content, which the company has been positioning as a way for businesses and developers to share updates across platforms. standard post length 280 characters. The change comes as website publishers have seen a decline in traffic from platforms like Facebook and Google, driven by changing algorithms and AI-driven events that have reduced clicks to external sites.
