Jed Dugger returns to social media after Brother Joseph’s arrest

Jade’s post comes months after Joseph, 31, was arrested on charges of molesting a now 14-year-old victim when she was 9 years old while the family was on vacation in Florida. Joseph was charged with lewd and lascivious conduct involving a victim under the age of 12 and lewd and lascivious conduct with a person 18 years of age or older, according to a news release from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

Joseph has pleaded not guilty to all charges. he is Released on $600,000 bail In March, he reunited with his wife, Kendra Duggar.

According to testimony obtained by Us Weekly, the victim told a detective with the Tondetown, Arkansas, Police Department during a forensic interview that Joseph had “several incidents of sexual abuse.” Joseph was 25 at the time, and Kendra was pregnant with their third child. The accuser recalled feeling “uncomfortable” and “confused” during the incidents, the affidavit said, adding that Joseph “eventually approached the victim and apologized for his actions,” at which point “the incident no longer occurred.”

Joseph’s attorneys reserve the right to speak with “any other law enforcement or child protective agencies involved in this investigation, including out-of-state equivalents, particularly in Arkansas.” They also seek to obtain evidence collected by child protective officers during the investigation.

“The defendant shall have the right to the testimony of witnesses, including records and evidence in the possession of the witnesses, in order to fairly determine the guilt or innocence of the defendant at trial,” his legal brief reads.
