Amazon is adding a short video to the Prime Video app called “Clips,” the company said he announced on Friday.
Released for the first time in the US, Clips will include … From this section, users can add a title to their watch list, share with friends, or browse to rent, buy, or access the title by subscription.
“Video offers customers a new way to browse with concise, personalized content,” said Prime Video’s director of Global Application Experiences, Brian Griffin, in a press release. Whether they have a few minutes to drive or they’re looking for something to watch when they have more time, entertainment is always in short supply.
Amazon first tested this short feed during the NBA season, showing highlights that users could skip through if they were watching TikToks.
It’s no surprise to see Prime Video making this change – Netflix, Peacock, PipesDisney, and others have recently released similar events, designed to encourage access. Netflix’s short feed shares the name Clips.
Clips is initially rolling out to select US customers on iOS, Android, and Fire tablets, but will be more widely available this summer. Users can navigate to Clips by scrolling down the Clips carousel on the Prime Video home page, which will display a regular feed.
