Spotify’s AI DJ now supports French, German, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese

Spotify said Thursday that its AI DJ feature now supports four additional languages: French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese. Until now, the interface, which you can interact with to request music and get comments spoken by AI, was only available in English and Spanish.

The company said the AI ​​DJs have different names and personalities to match their languages: Maia, Ben, Alex, and Dani.

Besides expanding support for new languages, the company is bringing the feature to Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea and Switzerland. AI DJ is now available in over 75 countries.

Spotify’s first version of AI DJ was simply providing music reviews while playing songs that users would like. But over the past few years, the company has made efforts to make this possible. In May 2025, the streaming service completely changed to allow users to interact with AI DJ and make requests change of mind or color. The company also increased the capacity ask AI DJ playing music, similar to how ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini work.

The company has been adding some AI features to the app, such as creative capabilities preferences for music or podcasts by simply explaining what they want to hear.
