Amazon is opening its global network to all businesses, the company said he announced on Monday. The new service, called Amazon Supply Chain Services, pits the e-commerce giant against UPS and FedEx.

The service opens up Amazon’s inventory, distribution, fulfillment, and shipping packages to businesses of all shapes and sizes. The company said the service will support businesses in industries such as healthcare, automotive, manufacturing, and retail.

With this launch, Amazon is creating a new way to grow in its e-commerce sector by turning a service used by thousands of independent retailers into a comprehensive offering for every business.

“Amazon is bringing the architecture, intelligence, and scale of its supply chain services — proven for decades — to businesses everywhere, just as Amazon Web Services did to cloud computing,” said Peter Larsen, vice president of Amazon Supply Chain Services, in post blog.

Amazon says Proctor & Gamble, 3M, Lands’ End, and American Eagle Outfitters have already signed up for the delivery service.
