“This is where I live. They let my home burn down,” he said. “I know the consequences of failed leadership. That’s why I’m running for mayor, for my sons and the rest of us Angelenos who want to stop these corrupt politicians from destroying our city. We will take back Los Angeles’ golden age.”

Platt said at the “They Let Us Burn” public demonstration on January 7, “The system in Los Angeles is not in trouble, it’s fundamentally broken. It’s a machine designed to protect the people at the top and the friends they trade favors with, while the rest of us drown in toxic smoke and ash. Business as usual is a death sentence for Los Angeles, and I’m tired of waiting for someone to take real action.”
Platt continued, “This is why I’m running for mayor. Let me be clear, this is not a campaign, this is a mission, we’re going to expose the system.”
