“The messages revealed the victim’s jealousy of the defendant’s relationships with other women because the defendant led her to believe they had a future together,” prosecutors claimed. “She became extremely frustrated and threatened to disclose damaging information about her relationship with the defendant to end his career and ruin his life. The defendant’s first studio album is scheduled to be released on April 25, 2025. His multi-million dollar career is already well underway. He also has multiple lucrative product endorsements.”
The next day, prosecutors allege, Dv4d ordered Rivas to take her in an Uber to his home in the Hollywood Hills, where he “stabbed the victim multiple times and stood by while she bled out.”
The singer then called and texted Rivas asking where she was, claiming he “calculated and planned his defense in the short time after the victim was viciously murdered,” according to the brief.
Prosecutors said D4vd “subsequently purchased tools to carry out its conspiracy to dismember and dispose of the victims’ bodies,” including ordering body bags, heavy-duty laundry bags and a blue inflatable swimming pool from Amazon under the pseudonym Victoria Mendez.

to fund meProsecutors allege that “the defendant took horrific measures to destroy and discard the victim’s body,” such as “putting her body into a blue inflatable pool to prevent her blood from splattering on the garage floor” and then using “power saws and other tools to cut off her limbs.”
Prosecutors further allege that D4vd “amputated her left ring and pinky fingers because she had a tattoo of his name on her ring finger. Her fingers have not yet recovered. The defendant then placed her head and torso in a body bag he purchased. He placed her limbs in a garbage bag and placed them in the front trunk, placing the body bag on top. Over the course of weeks and even months, the defendant left the victim’s body to decompose inside his Tesla.”

In a statement issued by D4vd’s attorney after his initial arrest on April 16, Blair Burke, Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peterdenied any involvement in Rivas’ death.
“Let us be clear – the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez, nor did he cause her death,” the singer’s attorney told reporters. TMZvowing to “vigorously defend David’s innocence.”
