“Some people have asked why it took so long between seasons two and three. There were the obvious factors — the walkout, trying to make the schedule work with our very popular cast, but the real time was trying to figure out a way to honor those we lost,” Levinson said at the premiere earlier this month.
He continued: “It was hard when Angus died. I loved him deeply and I fought hard to keep him innocent. The year he died, in 2023, he was one of 73,000 people in the United States who died from a fentanyl overdose. I learned a lot that year, but most of all I realized that death gives life meaning. You can’t be arrogant about existence. You are forced to face the fact that life itself is a miracle, a gift, and a profound blessing.”
