Amazon he started Tuesday’s new AI-powered feature that allows users to ask questions about the product and receive voice-generated responses in real-time. The answers are provided by what the company calls “AI-powered shopping experts,” who provide information in a natural, conversational way.
The new “Join the chat” section aims to save customers time by providing product details without asking them to go through lengthy explanations or reviews. AI pulls together information about product information, customer feedback, and other relevant information. For example, consumers can ask questions like whether a coffee maker is suitable for beginners or whether a sweater feels itchy based on customer reviews.
Instead of offering generic answers, Amazon says AI builds on previous answers to provide relevant and useful information, making sure not to repeat anything. This should be an experience similar to talking to a knowledgeable store employee.
“Customers can ask questions and control the direction of the conversation. Each question they ask affects the next step, which leads to customers being able to connect and change,” the company writes in a blog post.

“Join the chat” is part of a series of events called “Hear the main points,” which provides a summary of keywords on the millions of pages of the Amazon Shopping app to try May is over and now available in the US However, only selected items have the abbreviation.
To use the app, customers open the product page in the app and click on the “Hear the reviews” button, which is located under the image of the product. From there, they can listen to a brief or click the “Join the chat” icon to ask questions about the text or text. Audio can continue to play even when users are browsing.
The new capability builds on Amazon’s growing list of AI-powered shopping tools. This includes Rufusits AI assistant that helps customers search for products and compare options, Favoriteswhich continuously tracks and puts new products in line with consumer preferences, and “Help me decide,” which shows a person’s searches, browsing, and purchase history.
