“The man has been captured and they are going to his apartment. I guess he lives in California and he is a very sick man, a very sick man,” Trump added.

“I’m very shocked when something like this happens,” Trump said Saturday night. “This happened to me and it will never change. In fact, we were sitting next to each other and the first lady was sitting to my right and I heard a noise… I thought it was a pallet falling, it was pretty loud and it was coming from quite a distance away. (The suspect) never made it to the area. He did have a hold of him… but it was a gun.”

“Some people get it quickly, but others don’t…I’m watching what happens,” he continued. “Melania knew exactly what was going on; I think she knew immediately what was going on. She said, ‘That sound was terrible.'” We were taken away. It was so fast…we were out the door in seconds. “
