In the past few years, AI-powered dictation tools have emerged. In addition to existing programs such as Wispr Flow, Superwhisper, Willow, and Monologue, the new who are introduced every week. On Thursday, hardware company Nothing launched its competitor, called Essential Voice.
The basic idea is the same as other voice-over apps, as Essential Voice works in every app to turn your speech into text, getting rid of filler words like “um” and “ah” out of the way. The company said you can also create shortcuts for text, links, templates, and repeating text. For example, you can add a shortcut for “my address” to your full address.
Currently, the feature is available on Phone (3) with the release of Phone (4a) Pro scheduled for later this month, with support for Phone (4a) arriving next month.
To access the feature, users simply press the Essential key on the existing device or activate it on the keyboard. Part is similar to that of Superwhisper has been released earlier this week to iPhone users, allowing them to map the iPhone to the app’s keyboard for annotation.
There is no new tool that can translate words from one language to another. At launch, Nothing said the feature supports more than 100 languages. What’s more, it will also feature app-based styles, meaning you can adjust the tone of AI changes in app categories, such as apps and messages.
None is one of the first companies to offer comprehensive system integration. However, depending Google’s latest release of its offline messaging appwe may see more companies releasing similar devices in the future.
