Porsche will begin selling the all-electric Cayenne at the end of the summer, the latest sign from the German automaker that it still sees market demand for EVs.
The Cayenne coupe EV – which has four doors, unlike the traditional coupe – will join a number of other electric SUV models when they hit the market later this year, including the base Cayenne Electric, Cayenne S Electric, and Cayenne Turbo Electric. Porsche loves, after all, it loves its colors.
And it can be very successful. After Porsche introduced the gas-powered Cayenne Coupe in 2019, it took only a year for the sporty crossover SUV to capture 20% of sales in the Cayenne line. Five years later, the coupe makes up 40% of Cayenne sales, according to Porsche. In some markets, the coupe accounts for 90%.
In other words, the numbers show that the Cayenne electric coupe is a good bet even with its six-figure price tag.
The Cayenne Coupe Electric (as it’s called) will not replace its gas-powered or hybrid siblings, unlike Porsche Macan compact SUV, which will be sold as an EV this year.
The company says the Cayenne coupe EV will be sold alongside other petrol models beyond 2030, according to a Porsche spokesperson. This could reveal valuable information for Porsche about what Cayenne coupe buyers want to buy – and whether the electric version will be very popular. (The extra front seats alone may affect some buyers, not to mention fuel prices.)
None of these questions will be answered, however, until the Cayenne Electric, Cayenne S Electric, Cayenne Turbo Electric, and Cayenne Coupe Electric go on sale worldwide later this year — roughly nine months after the EV version was revealed.

When the Cayenne coupe EV goes on sale, it will be offered in three models: the base model, the S coupe, and the turbo coupe. (If you think that’s a lot, go check out how many Porsche Taycan EV models there are.)
The Cayenne Coupe Electric starts at $113,800, not including $2,350 delivery. Prices go up from there with the Cayenne S Coupe Electric at $131,200, and the Cayenne Turbo Coupe Electric at $168,000. Buyers can, of course, spend more by adding options such as light sports, which include a carbon roof, performance tires, and a motorsports-inspired interior.
For that kind of money, buyers will get a lot of horsepower and torque packed into the crossover’s body and a sloping roof reminiscent of the iconic 911. All coupe EV models come with an 800-volt powertrain, air suspension, and a shared roof design that includes a new windshield and an adjustable rear spoiler. The Cayenne coupe EV also has a North American Charging Standard, or NACS, port that Tesla announced, as well as an additional AC port.
From here, some changes depending on the brand the customer buys. The base coupe EV produces up to 435 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque, with a top speed of 143 miles per hour and a zero-to-60 time of 4.5 seconds.
For those who are not satisfied, there are two powerful methods that push the performance to the highest level. Ultimately, the turbo version makes 1,139 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque — putting it up there with the Tesla Model S Plaid, Lucid Air Sapphire, and Porsche Taycan Turbo GT. The Turbo version has a top speed of 162 mph and can go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds.
Porsche hasn’t released EPA estimates for the range of coupe EVs it can offer for the same price. But the first test of the world is compatible with the other electric models of the Cayenne, which is about 360 kilometers. Of course, if the buyers of the coupe EV choose the big tires – which make it immobile, which requires the battery to work harder – the range can drop by about 10%.
