Meta is also revising its multi-program management system

Trim he announced A well-designed Meta Account system designed to make it easy for users to log in and manage their Meta Accounts and devices.

Today, Meta’s ecosystem has grown so much that it almost feels redundant – users can have different accounts and log into Facebook, WhatsApp, Meta AI glasses, and more. While Accounts Center already supports this, the Meta Account system aims to make this possible. The comapny says the new system will be operational next year.

With Meta Account, users can choose to set a password that affects all their accounts within the Meta ecosystem – these logins can also be protected with Passkeys, which use fingerprints, facial recognition, or device passwords to access accounts. Meta says Meta Account will also come with security features to help users stay informed about more content, as well as login alerts across all their devices.

“Settings for Meta apps and devices are managed in one place through your Meta Account – similar to how Accounts Center works today,” the company wrote in a post. “Now, many settings can be managed this way, including your password, two-factor authentication, and the email address associated with your account.

The Meta Account will also help parents easily monitor their teen’s behavior across apps, so it’s no longer necessary to switch between different apps. From the Meta Account’s Family Center Dashboard, parents will be able to manage Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and Meta Horizon settings in one place.

“App-specific settings are still managed independently so you can customize your experience for everything. These options are personalized based on how you use each app, so they’re exactly what you’d expect: within the app,” Meta said. “For example, who can see what you write on Facebook is a Facebook site. Similarly, if someone can tag you in a photo on Instagram it is an Instagram site.”

The Meta Account setup doesn’t force users to link all of their accounts, though — if a user wants to separate their accounts, they can do so. Users can also choose to add or remove accounts from the entire Meta account at any time.
