VC Ron Conway says he has ‘strange cancer’

Ron Conway, the longtime capitalist, said on Friday that he was “recently diagnosed with an unusual cancer.”

In post on XConway wrote that he will “relinquish my normal duties,” but will “continue to support” the founders supported by his strong SV Angel: “With a stable and stable schedule, I can prioritize healthcare while supporting SV Angel founders in the transition stages as we always do!”

Conway also said SV Angel “will not change,” adding that his son Topher Conway “has made all of our financial decisions for the past decade.” And they noted that another son, Ronny Conway, joined them as a manager in 2024.

“They bring knowledge from almost every major tech giant in Silicon Valley and are now focused on partnering with the founders of creating the future of AI,” Conway said.

He said that he is not revealing the “type of cancer” in his diagnosis, because he does not want “hypotheses” about the disease, but he said that he was “hopeful.”

“I’m fortunate to have an amazing team of doctors at UCSF in San Francisco, and as you know, I’m not going back to war,” Conway said.
