Tesla is rolling out a new self-driving program that makes it easier for owners to sign up for its Self-Driving program and see statistics on how — and how often — they use it. The app will display FSD data, including multi-day streaks, and add a sports element to the driver assistance program.
The company teased the self-driving program, as well as many other features that will be included with its main replacement program, in a. post on X.
Tesla is Self-Directed (Supervised) is an advanced driver management system that launched in beta in late 2020, and has had regular updates to remove bugs, and improve reliability and performance. The system — which is available with a monthly subscription for $99 — can handle traffic such as steering, lane changes, and parking. It still requires driver supervision, which means that cars with the software are not autonomous.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk is trying to position the company as an AI and robotics powerhouse, not just a robotics machine. FSD is part of the project. Hitting “10 million FSD subscriptions” by 2035 is one of the most important “business goals” necessary for Musk to receive the full salary about his new $1 trillion package.
Self-driving software may seem essential to Tesla’s desire to drive FSD, but it’s a burden. Today, Tesla owners can register for FSD using a car scanner or mobile app, but it takes a few steps to get to the right place.
The new program will allow owners to register with one click. The caveat is that this feature is only available to owners of Tesla vehicles equipped with the A14 chip, also known as FSD Hardware 4.0, which began shipping to vehicles in January 2023.

The updated self-driving software will display a variety of statistics that go beyond what Tesla owners with FSD see today. Current FSD subscribers see the number of miles driven compared to the number driven by FSD.
The updated program will display several graphs, including the use of FSD in a bar chart. It will also track and display user “lines”, showing how many consecutive days FSD was used.
FSD (Supervised) is available in Australia, Canada, China, Mexico, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, South Korea, and the United States. Dutch regulator RDW approved using the FSD on April 10 after investigating and testing the drug.
