Steve Howie Leaving High powerI but Did his character Captain Wagner die? Before season 3?
In the season 2 finale, Wagner (Howey) shot and bleeding First responders were called to assist. Before news broke that Howie, 48, would be exiting the hit ABC drama, it was unclear whether he would survive. (Howie previously starred in upcoming seasons of off campus and ransom canyonso he may be written off the show. )

Howie His arc has been teased before. Speaking exclusively on the show US Weekly In September 2025, he said: “Nick coming in did ruffle some feathers. But his motivations and intentions were not to do that. He wanted to help, and we started to see that in different episodes.”
He continued, “That’s my fear and concern. When the dynamic of these characters is so strong, adding another character might cause that to disappear. I’m still trying not to do that. It’s going to evolve into something really cool. We don’t know the chemistry between Nick and Morgan. Obviously there is (something). But as he gradually gains more trust in the department, hopefully it will get better and better.”
Howie, for his part, is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of one of his favorite shows.
