X claims to reduce payouts to Clickbait accounts

X is reducing the cost of paying for accounts that are “long-term delinquent” and incorporating more urgent and urgent issues, according to its chief marketing officer Nikita Bier.

Bier wrote on Saturday that “(a) all aggregators had their payouts reduced by 60% this cycle” and said they will see a reduction of another 20% in the next cycle of payments. He also said that Elon Musk’s social network will reduce the payment of “brands who like to use ‘🚨BREAKING’ in every post.”

Bier’s comments came after a series of news stories broke by writing that he has received emails from X informing them that their accounts have been changed.

Dominick McGee, who writes under the name Dom Lucre, he wrote“🔥🚨BREAKING (…) I’m the first creator on the platform and I stayed for a whole year. I found it and lost it senselessly. How can this be? I’m one of the hardest working creators on X.”

McGee’s account has 1.6 million followers on X. He became famous for writing conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election, and while he was temporarily banned from X in 2023 and protested in 2024, he told The New York Times last year that he was making $55,000 a year from the platform.

In response to what Bier wrote, McGee complained that X seems to be listening to “complaints from people who have no intention of making this program.” And while he admitted that declaring every post fake news is “clickbait,” he said, “I post a lot and very few actually GET BACK.” (Other X users seem to disagree, adding a community word that links to the 91 times they used the word “FROM” last week.)

Some users have reported that they have been infected with X, and an account called PoliMath posting“I think I appreciate what Nikita is trying to do there but I’ve been making very little money for a long time so I’m afraid that maybe I got caught in the bucket of ‘aggregators’.” The article stated that they are “not ‘multiples’ by any stretch of the imagination,” although they agreed to have a paid partnership with Kalshi.

Bier’s comments came later a new argument about the price of X platformand data scientist and scientist Nate Silver laments how difficult it has become to drive traffic from X to other websites. He too demonstrated the dominance of right-wing accounts on Xhe declares, “I guess I had an inkling of how bad it was, but jeez, this is what you get when the environment is destroyed.”
